Help With Bajonet Identification needed PLEASE.

Article about: Hi guys. Could anybody please help me with identification of this bajonet? My dad found it about month ago in Czech republic sealed in a wall, so we trying to find out where did it come from

    Hi guys.
    Could anybody please help me with identification of this bajonet?
    My dad found it about month ago in Czech republic sealed in a wall, so we trying to find out where did it come from. Please could anybody give us a helping hand.

    Hello-it's an Austro-Hungarian M1888 bayo without the catch for fitting on the rifle-the rings and chain are not original to it. It was used on the A-H Mannlicher M1886/88 model rifles-the diameter of the muzzle ring is 17.5mm for the 1886 and 16.3mm for the 1888 bayos for the rifles.

    The numbers on one side of the crossguard match the serial number of the rifle it was matched with, the other 2 sets of numbers on the other side are the regiment the rifle and bayonet were issued to and the 'rack number' used for storage identification in the unit itself.

    Could you please explain which number are serial number for a rifle and for regiment and etc.

    '6151F' Weapon serial number,' LJ2' Regt and '629' rack number.
