9 bulett casings in Brittany the brocilande / paimpiont forest area near to mauron.

One of the casings on the base as T over E then opposite 4 opposite a 5 over 2.

Another one as on base a T over F opposite C then other side 4 opposite 4. Thats all I can make out.

The sizes are 155 mm all found within 6 feet of each other.
Pics are not the best will try and get some better ones.

    Any ideas ?

At first glance they look like either .30cal American cartridges or 7.92mm German.

However, the headstamps bear no resemblance to either. The only reference I can find for TE is a French manufacturer. The other headstamp I cannot ID at all.

Can you take some better photos and include some of the headstamps themselves ?

    Cheers

    155mm is a little to big for a .30 or a 7.92mm round. In fact thats bigger than a .50 or a 20mm round. Is 155mm correct?

Did you mean 55mm long? They could be 7.5x54mm French MAS.

    LOL !!

I didn't even read that bit about their size !!

155mm is rather large. A .50cal cartridge is 100mm from base to lip.

This could explain why I don't understand the headstamp codes, and why there is 'space' to have a........ 'T over F' or '5 over 2'.

    As a comparison,. a 1943 British 2 pounder case I have is 160mm tall.

    Curious
