Article about: True, I hope you can trace it back to either Panther or KT, but I doubt that GI would take it as a souvenir being a rather non descriptive piece unless you are a panzer hobbyist. There were

What other piece can you take that you could fit in your pocket? Especially when in combat.

Imagine the GF asking the die hard collector and model builder; 'Is that a KT schackle in your pocket or are you just happy to see me!?'

These D shackles look the same as any i have used before in the heavy industry. Im not saying yours dont come from a tiger but unless they have provenance or some markings it would be hard to tell where they came from. In my experience D shackles are universal and used for a wide variety of applications. I would say the Germans used these everywhere they needed that tonnage shackle, not just on tanks. I bet the towing point on the tanks were designed to fit that shackle and not vice versa

No offence mate, but what's the point of all these necro posts, it adds nothing to the forums interest?

When you are sitting in, minding the dog , looking at my favourite forum???

You then find some thing interesting, but incomplete... you add your thoughts.

Also, if they are "Necro Posts", why aren't they deleted after a certain time?

Does this mean after a period of time, you cannot answer/reply to them?..

What about finding/adding new information to a thread, is that allowed?

    Just wondering..
