Italian M33 Helmet

Ok .. not so much a barn find, ... but found in the bottom of a wardrobe with the veterans medals etc. (Suspect the helmet was a bring back )
.. I'm pretty certain this is a geniune sleeper ...

Any Italian helmet collectors out there who might be able to confirm ?

Also, the motif on the front of the helmet, .. what does it stand for in Italian military terms ?

The detail of the symbol is not a clear picture, but it could be the symbol of engeeners or pioneers.

The Regio Esercito Engeneers used (and still uses) the symbol that consists of the shell (the round) topped by a flame and two crossing axes, as oyu can see in the two pictures. The pictures are not the best: the one marked genio4 is an old style one but it miss the "shell" becouse it is referred to a civilian troops. The other one is a modern symbol.
