Japanese timer - anyone know what this is?

Article about: Anyone have any idea what this might be? It's from a ww2 Japanese sub or ship I think. Some of the writing translates to year such of emperor such which puts it in the 1940s. Any ideas will

    Hi Ron,

    Looks like an IJA acceleration and reduction meter. Not sure where it was from.

    It is dated Sept, 1944.

    It weights 8.3 kg.

    The white plate with three characters are (left to right):

    Increase, Stop, Decrease. (Switch is missing on the Increase section)
