Default Large Victorian Box (possible military)

    Hi

First off please delete or move if not appropriate.

I found this in my shed and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it. I have no idea if it is military or not, though it looks similar to boxes used by soldiers for personal items etc.

I assume it is Victorian as there is a number 69 (abbreviation for 1869).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

With the name being oddly familiar, perhaps it isn't a date, perhaps it is a waist measurement.

Or his fantasy score as a fighter pilot in WWI.....(I would have said his IQ, but that would have been unkind to stupid people...)
