    morning all,
    i have just found a medical pannier, no1, 1905 pattern, which i believe were designed to be carried by mules/horses.

    no contents obviously

    nothing coming up on google re: age, use, value.....

    any help much apreciated, am wanting to put a value on it,

    its canvas, with leather trim, metal hasps and chains with a wicker inner. has a red cross painted on the front, with a number one on the sides and the letters F M P, hamper measures aprox one foot deep and tall, 3 feet long, hope that helps

    Hi Max, that is the one.

    These are nice items and I once owned one. Sadly mine was badly affected by woodworm and my Dad was not keen about it being in the house (even after treatment) so when a mate wanted to buy it, I decided to let it go. He was a RAMC specialist collector so it went to a good home. I sold mine for 55, given the condition, and this was some years ago now, possible 10 years as time goes on... I have seen them at shows more recently priced anywhere between 75 and 125.
