Medals of different nationality, to a Belgian lawyer;
That guy had a lot of awards.
Not sure there where all his, probably some belonged to his father as well...still need to research that.
A nice lot and I imagine a few are named.
Is it easy researching Belgians? Something that can be done online? I might need to have a go at Belgian WWI research in the not too distant future.
Tony
Thanks.
Only the big coins bear a name. They were given for a personal jubilee.
Researching Belgians is quite hard, yes!
For WWI there is a good tool called "the Golden book of the fire card", but your guy must be holder of de" carte du feu/ vuurkaart".
It means he must have spend time at the front line.
The book can be found here; Guldenboek der vuurkaart
Yes I have a book but can't remember which, will have to dig it out to actually check it. With a bit of luck it'll be your lawyer
Tony
No not a chance, there are only soldiers in that book and the lawyer only started his career in 1949. Maybe he's father...!?
