I found this at the scrap yard. I think the "M" stands for Kriegsmarine, can somebody help me?

Yes Kreigsmarine , looks like a tag or token.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Could it have been used to mark stores/loads for kreigsmarine, like those little Luftwaffe tags with the Gull cut into them???
I also think it's some sort of tag, like on this picture.
I'm certainly no expert but... the third picture shows that it's not perfectly round (yes?), so looks to have been cut out from a tag similar to the one in your last photo.
Either way, BRILLIANT find! I can't even find parts for my old Astra!
Martyn.
It's not cut, just a few dents.
My mistake. I'll look a little more closely next time. Just that we used to do that with varios waning tags / labels. Still a good find.
Martyn.
