good evening PhilBrown.by the the way this is my first piece ,after coming home frome one and half month journey to Norway.hat was laying right on the attic surface in old mans house(kurland pocket):thats the story i got from boy who found it.restoration no need-still nice to use on battlefield:just play some neglectful,intidy soldier.to be serious i will display it under glass surface of my working table.i like it very much.cloth is still soft.

it looks like it was aged the wrong way
coastal cap in my opinion, artificially aged.
Looks good to me, soft parts have been eaten off...
I've seen that kind of liners, to me the cap looks OK, a lot of caps, etc was worn after the war repainted in to the starnge colors. The liner looks to me damaged due of rotten, not of the use. That is normal. IMHO original
