It certainly has character. I don't want to be the first, but that decal sure looks like it's been blow-torched. Still if it didn't cost much, it don't matter

Typical stress fractures from being in a barn or shed. I have had a loads of helmets like this from Normandie and I wished I owned this one.

the paint is still over some of the decal. the guy wasn't selling as an ss helmet and the price i paid for it was so low if he faked it he didn't make any money out of doing it. i have a place in normandy and know the normans very well. this is very real. maybe if it was in your hand it would look correct. you cant always tell from a picture. as for the regulation 3mm. seen plenty that were not.

yes i also got 2 ammo boxes. one green and a unit marked tan one.

If it was cheap thats good, but it looks to have been repainted over rust pits, IMO. Is there a hint of a decal on the other side? Can you post another pic showing this area?
