    Default strange bayonet from friend

    Helo

This gave me my friend yesterday It is remain of some sort off bayonet or what the hell is it ? It has attachment for mounting on thr gun but that big bras hand guard is strange to me because it hasnt hole for barrel.
It look like it was broken and velded back together.
I am not home now so I could inspect it closely for markings during weekend.

Is it real bayonet or it was home made by somebody ? Click image for larger version.

It's a real pommel, looks like from a Jap Arisaka bayonet. Yes it looks like the blade was cut off then welded together again. The crosspiece has nothing to do with it. I'm not even sure the blade is the right one.

I dont now but after close look and litlte research I think that It could be a steyr mannlicher m95 bayonet.
My father is making repro handle and hand guard for it.

May have been altered to a trench/fighting knife from a bayo at some stage.

That compilation, the blade looks like the German K98, postwar combination :-)
