Hi, Some nice and very interesting finds, All I seam to find is junk with a capital J. May I make one very minor observation please. The British "Back Pack" is actualy a side pack. Back packs have a diferent strap arrangement and are larger. The back pack was primarily used to carry spare clothing and effects whereas the side pack was used to carry necesities required whilst on the march.
