Exclamation WW2 British 2 Man Commando Kayak

I've spotted an old kayak, which I believe is WW2 in a boat shed near my local sailing club. I've included a picture of the same type below. So is it worth speaking to the owner about it? and would it be worth restoring it because its in a bit of a state and it looks as if its sat around for many years, but its all there so it might be a good project. Does anyone know anything else about this type of kayak, i.e how many were made? by who? dates etc?
    Thanks

Hi Danny, I know a fair bit about these, as I happen to own a Mark 9

But I will need to see photos of the actual boat in question.

There is a new definative book on the subject, called "Cockleshell Canoes" out now.

    Cheers, Ade.

I will show the canoe later this year once it is finished. One of two know survivors of this Mk.

Hi Danny, if this is a real wartime canoe it is well worth buying.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Ade, I'll try to get some photos soon, but my camera has broken which delays things a bit, I'm probably going to give it a try at least because it seems a waste letting it rot away.

hi Danny, please get them. I will give you all the info I can then. This is quite an involved subject with many different types of canoes. None are exactly common to find today.

    Cheers, Ade.

You will not need my help once you have the book
