Default Couple of Different Austrian Patriotic Items

OK, these were in the local shop for $15 @. Couldn't resist. I believe they are apothecary mortars, one with a picture of France Josef(?) and the other Austrian soldiers attacking an Italian Field Artillery Unit. The graphics are minty, with lots of patriotic surroundings and colors. Glare is from the camera...

Now, what to do with them?

    Thanks for looking!

    Thanks Gentlemen!

Wife is looking at them.... maybe as planters. I think not!

Lokvar - Thank you. Thought it might be Karl, but the 'medal' below has an "FJ" in it so I wasn't sure but what it was a young Franz-Josef.

    Best regards!

They actually seem to be the mortar as a mortar and pestle. Why such an item would have these patriotic, especially a battle scene seems strange, at least to me.
