    I believe the shoulder board may be German, for an NCO in the Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr.1 ( war time board).

    Thank you for your response! I googled this regiment and it seems that cypher's color originally supposed to be gold not silver unless NCO officers had a different regulations. Thanks again!

    The second is an Austrohungarian cocarde for marine ...soldier.

    The shoulder board is indeed for the Kaiser Alexander Garde Grenadier Rgt. Nr.1. The Garde lace indicates the rank of Offizierstellvertrater (temporary officer replacement).

    The Austrian navy cap insignia is for an junior NCO.
