Default Battle of Britain: in men and machines

Not sure if this has already been posted - apologies if it has - but a very interesting article in the Daily Mail on-line on the daily toll on both the Luftwaffe and RAf between 10th July and 31st October 1940. It shows daily loses in terms of men and aircraft, with summaries of daily activity drawn from Air Staff Operational summaries. August 15th was the most intensive day with 35 RAF and 76 German aircraft lost, with the RAF flying 1320 sorties. The intensity of that period is quite staggering and the level of exhaustion felt on both sides is hard to imagine.

Not sure how acurrate the loss figures are as I know they were somewhat unreliable/exaggerated but an interesting read nontheless.
