Role of Polish soldiers fighting with the Western Allies has been not really well told in English and in some sense even demoted.
It is often forgotten that Poles fought on all fronts of European theatre of war - from Poland, France, England, Middle East, Italy, Normandy and Eastern Front to Germany on the ground, at sea and in the air.
Looking for following WWII German items:
    - anything dealing with Allenstein (Olsztyn) and Wehrkreis I in East Prussia,
    - entrenching tool carrier (straight and folding),
    - forestry and hunting items,

    Only to be betrayed.

Alas the Polish War Memorial in Ruislip is a silent epitaph.

Lets not forget the London Victory Celebrations of 1946, where Poles were not even invited (technically the airmen were).

Unfortunately they are all silent epitaphs but none the less respected for their sacrifices, but please dont turn the thread into another political right or wrong decision making debacle made post war, it ruins the thread and can lead to disagreements that have nothing to do with the original post, suffice to say the poles fought hard and were worthy allies

Agreed, yet fate of Poland was not decided post-war but in Tehran and Yalta during the course of war.

In the film Battle of Britain I believe he's listed as an Israeli, but for the life of me I cannot see where the problem was re the block, as for the Polish pilots dont forget most had seen a lot of action before coming to England but it was the Language problems that hindered their inclusion straight away
Well, technically he was a Palestinian, since there was no Israel in 1940. lol

    Gday gents
The Jamacian was PO H Capstick 236 Squadron whom died during the battle (not KIA).
The Palestinian was PO GE Goodman (couldn't work out squadron) who was KIA.
    Cheers
