Have you tried asking on the GMIC? They can usually track down WWI Officers fairly easily.
    Chris,
Thanks, will get up with GMIC and see what they can do for me.

Another museum quality piece! Now just to show my ignorance, is there a difference in the uniforms between an enlisted pilot and any other enlistedmen assigned to a squadron? Besides the pilot's badge of course.

    Beast,
I would say no. This is a standard M-1910 tunic that was updated in 1916 with a change in the cuffs. It would have been worn by every NCO. The only difference would be that this is a private purchase tunic as opposed to an issue tunic. Other difference between the pilot and another NCO assigned to the squadron would be the shoulder straps and of course the addition of the pilot badge. I am not sure if the black piping around the collar for aviation would have been worn by ground personnel. Other than that they would be the same. Adler may be able to shed more light on this subject.

Terry, Thanks for the answer. What type of shoulder straps would a ground NCO assigned to the squadron wear? Would it have the squadron number? And is there a particular color that the numbers would be embroidered in?

    Beast,

I am not up on the Imperial German enlisted unforms, however with that being said I may have spoken to quickly ref the shoulder straps. I looked at several pictures of Jagstaffles and it appears that some of the enlisted men are indeed wearing the gray shoulder strap with the red wing and prop. So it would appear that even the non aviator enlisted men wore the same shoulder strap as Kleinshred. I would assume that they also would wear the black piping around the collar as well since black was the designated color for aviation. I will continue to research this and if I find any more will get back with you.
    Thanks. Terry

Man, if you couldn't get laid wearing that uniform, well it just wasn't going to happen.
