Uncle Frank ( My grandfathers brother )passed away on Wednesday two weeks ago , aged 96 , he lived alone at home until 6 months ago.
A man of deeds and few words , seen it all and done it all from WW2 , Malaya & Vietnam . From LAC to Wing Commander in a long career
I still have his flying jacket that he gave me when I was 7 years old.
He certainly lived a full life and never banged on about it , he had style , my childhood hero , when I was a kid he would pull up in his silver E Type Jaguar and get out in his RAAF Officer uniform and looked to me like god , a movie star
RIP mate the last of your kind in my family.
Thats a nice Bag of Fruit on his Chest .

LOL , he sure was motivated , from a Spitfire engine fitter in Drawin to Air Crew as a Flight Engineer on Cat's then re trained after the war as a pilot , Lincoln pilot through out their service life . A Lancaster on Steroids lol. And was involved in the 1st RAAF C-130's lot from the US , he flew them all over the world , and did lots of un official flights into SEA early pre vietnam from his Mayala knowledge after nearly 70 Lincoln missions there.

What a wonderful tribute to a fine and honourable gentleman, a brave Airman who served us all with distinction. Rest in peace Frank and thank you from me. Leon.
