Unsure if this is the right category.......

Ive been trying to find out about the French Air Force involved with helping Russia's front against the Germans.

    In particular

Jean De Tedesco who disappeared in aerial fight in the region of Orel July 14 1943 Normandy-Niemen regiment.

Ive been pointed in the direction of Normandie-Niemen

who have him listed, infact i need to check that they are one in the same.

    Sous-Lieutenant
    Jean De Tedesco
    30234

Was this pilot or aircraft ever found?

interesting stuff with the French helping out the Russians.

I think im going to start with the basics and research the Sqn.

I dont think they had an easy time over there.

Ive sent an email to the Sqn museum so hopefully will get a reply.

hi Neil! What about your researches?Happy to see the interest you have for this bad knowed part of our history in France.Maybe here in France, near Rouen(I think it's close to Le Neubourg ,a village close to Louviers) you can find on the net, sites about the Free Frenches especially Normandie niemen. It seems to me that a famous pilot was born near Le Neubourg.
Sorry,it's not really accurate, but can be an other link for you

hi Neil, I give you the name of a french guy, specialized in crash site spotting
and airplane wreck recovery.Maybe it can be helpful. He's living in the East of France(Alsace) and has yet recovered many planes.I keep on looking for the good idea.Bye!

Neil, the french again...I tried to track this man on the net.Dead end...So I've send an Email to "le Musée de la poche de Colmar"where are some of his airplane relics(p47 propeller as seen on the picture",asking for at least ,his mail or phone.I keep you on touch.I think he's the right man cause he's working with the French AF Base where's located the "modern"Normandie-Niemen sqd.Tchao!
