    "Spot On" he was Oberleutnant Franz von Werra,he went missing on a flight on 25th Oct. 1941. He won the RK for his escape from Canada and had 21 kills at his death.

    i see this interesting history of escape in tv ( historia canal ) or cinema! Werra escape from canada , after return to germany and disappeared in russia the same year ! i think only one successful escape from canada by one german soldat

    In this picture they must be unloading the guns as the cowling has all been removed.
