Does anyone have this picture? (a little blurry,)The close up of the cockpit, seems altered? Just what did Hermann Graf look like? My Son sent this to me but the pilot just doesn't look German. The guy I had frame it for me said it must bring up some interesting conversations. Is this historically correct? Or is it just me? Not trying to cause any riffs. I just would like to know. Thanks for any information on it. Ron

Difficult to make out. The Bf-109 is late war with "Galland" hood.

Thanks Brian. He doesn't look like the pilot in the picture though. I saw photos of him on some web sites. It is this particular photo that stumps me. Ron

As a painted piece of art (that has been reproduced as a print)
the artist may or may not have known exactly what the
    pilot actually looked like.

He also may not have been able to paint his face in exacting
detail in such a small area, in the type of medium it was
origianally painted in - probably acrylic.

    Hi Ron,

The aircraft is a Bf 109 G-6. The canopy is not the Galland style, but the more common earlier framed style. Here's a pic of Graf's aircraft in a 1/16 scale kit i have. Strangely, the pilot model also does not resemble the photo of Herr Graf either!!

    Cheers, Ned.
