    Hey guys i thought i would post some of my flying Helmets for you

    First up is a early B Typre

    This is a Chinese Mig 15 Pilots Helmet

    A G Type cloth helmet and mask this was worn under a bone dome

    Next is a US MODERN, U.S.A.F./US ARMY, GENTEX HGU-ZA/P, JET PILOT HELMET with MBU-5/P Oxygen Mask, O/D body with Scott Bayonet attachments, chin strap, internam comms nad tinted single visor. Service use marks to out shell edges, paint mark. Interior padding cover present. Wear to ear covers with exposed foam usual to these items. Oxygen Mask in very good condition, pliable hose and correct comms. First issued 1960's - through Vietnam up to 1980's. As used in fast jets, phantom, Mirage (RAAF) skyhawk, F-15E Eagle.

    This RAF Garrison Cap belonged to a Battle Of Britain Hurricane Pilot and was kindly given to me by his Son

    Nice stuff - but some minor clarifications the B type is an Aussie 'B' missing it's forehead strap and inner ear cushions and chinstrap - it is different in construction from the British B. Your British O2 mask is not a G it is a postwar H type, if you look on the strap you'll find the NSN number and next to the Mic on the RH side there should be a date moulded into the body typically month-year e.g. '8-53' for Manufactured August 1953.

    Was the HGU and RAAF issue?

    As far as i know the HGU was RAAF issue.

    His Last Name was Furnish, sorry don't know all his details but i will get in contact with his Son to find out. Here is an up date to the collection too a Navy Helmet used as a prop in the Top Gun Movie.
