    'Flak Magnet' was shot down by German ace Heinz 'Fritzl' Bar on the 22nd April 1944 mission to the marshalling yards at Hamm, it was his 200th victory. The only casualty was the pilot Lt. Spaven who was last seen slumped over the yoke. Here's a photo of the ship trailing fuel just before being finished off by Bar. It was taken from another B-24 in the formation.

    seems wierd seeing these......i was working loading bombs to these Jets 23 yrs ago in the Gulf.......Good ol Buccaneer...
