It's Dutch NSB (Nationaal Socialistische Beweging) but I can't say if it's original . Looks very fresh to me .

Dutch NSB cap but I think it is a repro/make up one looking at these pictures.

Any shots of the inside would help see if the cap is 1930/40's.

They are pretty rare so here's hoping !

I have owned an NSB/WA enlisted visor before, marked "Opsporingspolitie Apeldoorn on the inside

The police stamp was post-war, meaning that it was held as evidence during an investigation.
Most NSB/WA members were "hunted down" in the days following the liberation.....

But this leader's visor does not follow the same pattern as far as the materials/textiles used.
Which isn't to say that it's not original, I just can't tell without more details.
Perhaps a view of the inside would help. There are known uniform makers for WA clothing...

Looks like a repro to me the material seems off to me and the chin cord seems a little weird

Carfin I don't believe that is any repo hat at all IMO materials look awafully correct especially the underide of the visor and sweat band. I know this Dutch Nazi stuff is very sought after and rare as already stated so I am wondering if this is one made up from something else or what. I haven't ever had one in hand to tell you just what they should be If it would be a repo it would be dead on to quality you see in German Manfacturing. Hopefully someone will come on that has owned or handled one in the past that was good, at any rate it is a nice cap and would fill the void of a rare real one the insignia looks dead on to the Dutch collabrator. timothy

I'm leaning towards liking it, but there are some red flags that I'm seeing. The underside of the Visor, for one, has no finger marks and the sweatband looks awfully fresh,pliable and unstained-as does the lining of the hat itself. No hair oil or sweat staining to the satin. IF it Is genuine, it would have to be pretty much unissued, to be in this condition, but this still would leave the supple leather to explain. In addition, there are no makers marks,no size marks and no personalization, such as inked initials or names inside the band that one tends to see with a uniform hat and no hint of any fading to the dark color from the sun and the elements. The lining is also held in place with some Very tight stitching, unlike so many uniform caps of the era that have large loose stitching. Personally, I'd Like it to be genuine, but I'm having to think it's a very well made replica. It would be nice if I were wrong.
