    This isn't a military award...This appears to be Masonic/Fraternal in my opinion...

    The snake or serpent swallowing it's own tail is known as the 'Ouroboros' or 'Uroboros'. Often used to symbolise the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return. Perhaps in this case constant friendship.

    Interesting, that might explain why I could not find hide nor hair on one. Does it have any real value?. Thank you!
