I'd say it's probably Rusian or Polish, NOT German/ TR related.

I have this badge now. It is silvered copper. The reverse of the badge is stamped "ROA 42".

Is this an ROA veteran badge? Why Roman characters "ROA" and not Cyrillic "POA"?

    Any thoughts most welcome.

I cannot throw any light on the ROA 42 .Have you thought that it may be Serbian? The style of the crown, the
double-headed eagle and what appears to be George and the dragon in the centre.
George and the dragon device was used in Serbia ( see the Serbian Volunteer Badge). I am sorry I cannot add
    anything further.

    Brian.

I like the Serbian connection, it certainly reminds me of some of their insignia. Interesting little thing.
If anyone would like a custom piece of artwork for your war room please let me know! I am currently doing A2 sized sketches of a subject of your choice. Either copy an existing picture or create a scene based on your brief. Details in the 'other militaria' section of the classifieds.

I also have a deac Mk1 (1941) Enfield Bren gun & Transit case for sale, mint condition. Also looking for trade offers. UK only I'm afraid.

It is not related to Serbia. The image of St George on the eagles' chest is typical for Russia. The Serbian eagle has a shield with a cross and 4 C letters on it /well, 2 are mirror images of the letter/. Another difference, the Serbian eagle does not hold anything in the claws, while the Russian one has a sceptre and orb.

    Thanks for the input guys!

Definitely not Serbian but Russian double-headed eagle and St. George facing right (Serbian St. George [?] faces left)
