Very interesting items, thank you for showing them. What is the story behind the ashtray in the first post? It looks a like a broken umbrella turned upside down, with a broom in it. I can imagine what the broom might symbolise (- Rex sweeps away the old order?) but an umbrella?!

Philip : your are right for the broom * in 1936, the rexist parade in the street with the broom ( there is also a badge with the broom, I'll post il later ), the broom was used as a symbol to clean the the belgian political class.
for the umbrella, I have no explanation and I think that there is no explanation, it could be something else to make the ashtray's body
