    Hello,
too bad the wooden handle is broken.
Considering its features, this shovel could have been produced during or after the Great War.
    No markings at all ?
    Thanks

Well both shovels are based on the Cpt. Linnemann patent. ( From 1870) But I doubt they are that old. A licensed product from the early 1900's. Linnemann produced shovels for: Denmark, Russia, Germany, Austria and numerous other countries.

First shovel is most likely WWI german
second one with pointed blade is from the austro-hungarian empire....most likely austrian due to its features.
    Thanks

Although the second one is German made, by Vogel and Noot, it is most likely for the Austrian army, due to the shape. http://www.vogel-noot.info/index.php/weiter_en

    Hello again,
Sorry to disagree with you Theo, but Vogel und Noot is an austrian company....here's a part of their history taken from the link you provided...

    1872
Friedrich Vogel, Hugo Noot and Hermann Rührlein establish their first factory in Wartberg/Mürztal (Austria) in the form of a steel finery, a forging hammer and a sheet rolling mill. The first products are spars and shovels.

The second shovel posted is austrian made and meant for the austrian army within the austro-hungarian empire. A lot of them saw service in the Wehrmacht...
    Thanks
