Here is the Pregătirea Premilitară, Clasa I (Premilitary Training, First Class) badge, Carol II model. This is probably a late 30s model.

Premilitary Training was an institution organized under King Carol II and its purpose was to train the youth (18-20 years old) in national, civic and military spirit. During King Mihai's rule, following these courses became obligatory for all youth.

This is in mint condition. The enamel actually looks perfect, better than in the picture.

Side note: Shame on you for thinking those are Karl Marx books.
