Hello,
I bought this in a market in Bran, Romania. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but am curious if anyone has any idea on it's authenticity, time period, or any other significance.
Any contributions are appreciated!

It's the Romanian "Liberation from Fascist Subjugation" Medal [Medalia "Eliberarea de sub jugul fascist"], instituted in 1949.
See:
Liberation from Fascisism Medal
"Medal for the Liberation from Fascist Subjugation" issued in 1949.
"IN SLUJBA POPORULUI MUNCITOR". Translates as: "Workng for the working people"
Cheers, Ade.

The more accurate name is "Medal for the Liberation from the Fascist Yoke" awarded from 18.07.1949 to all the romanian soldiers (in 1958 also the Soviet occupation army received it) that fought against the Axis in 1944-1945. You have the common type marked on the reverse with RPR (Popular Romanian Republic). During the '60 Nicolae Ceausescu awarded another medal marked RSR (Romanian Socialist Republic) which is much more valuable and harder to find
My small addition to this thread.......(1) armband .....(1) document with (2) medals......(1) mini medal....there were about 200,000 women serving in the Lotta Svard organisation
1920's-1944......about 2,600 medal have been awarded...... lDave H
What is the link between these Finnish medals and the Romanian medal presented above?
