Probaly KIA cause it is only a half part of the complete tag.

Yes i noticed that, but as you know some where broken before tossed away. Also long time in ground with high "acid" levels can make these tags corrode until they brake in two.
Anyway, i like it alot. You dont see these dogtags everyday.
Hi Guys, since this thread has changed and evolved since first posted just about trousers, I have changed the thread title to better reflect it.
Super stuff by the way!
Cheers, Ade.

Another interesting dogtag frei. very nice!!!
Thanks Adrian,
Indeed this thread has changed a little from a question to everything that has something to do with cossacks and roa.
Very nice. This is a gem in any collection. I like the way you dress up the mannequins, they look very much alive.
Have you seen/found helmets with weird/unfamiliar colours on the decals? I studied an 1943 edition of Signal, and they showed cossacks using helmets with decals that seems to be their tribe coloures.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks, i try to build up the mannequins as they could have been then.
About the helmets :
I saw a helmet with a cossack emblem on the side but sadly enough it was not original.
If they have ever existed ????
About the previous pictures ; as far as I can see are the german emblems overpainted.
It was not allowed for eastern volunteers to have a helmet with german decals. In many cases the decals where removed or overpainted. Now we speak about somewhere in 1942. You see it with uniforms too, no german emblems where allowed. In practise of course they where partly used in mixture with special for the eastern volunteers made emblems.
On the pictures you can see also that on some the german ''litzen'' (collartabs) and schoulderboard are beiing removed.
First in 1944 it was allowed for eastern volunteers to wear german decals and emblems (hoheitsabzeichen and ranks).
I have one eastern volunteer helmet in my collection where the decal has been removed. Will later on make some pictures of it.
Below a picture of NOT AN ORIGINAL helmet !!!!!!!!
Yes the war was almost lost when they finally were free to use the german insignia on their uniforms.
Looking forward to see the helmet!!!!
