I have a question regarding M35. Did the Hungarians have decails on those in ww2?

Officially ranger troops wore a metal hunting horn on their helmets from 1941 until 1944 when a decal version replaced this attachement. However original example of this decal has not surfaced until now.
Hungarian fascist troops wore occasionally painted or stenciled crossed arrows on helmets according to witnesses but I've never seen any original example even on picture.
I had an interesting helmet with a hand painted insignia of the association of germans in Hungary "Volksbund der Deutschen in Ungarn".
But generally decals are atypical on hungarian helmets and collectors must be extremely careful with any of these.

Depends on the type and condition.
Original ww2 M35 combat helmets in green-brown, orig M27 liner and orig strap costs 150-800 $, original blue-grey civil defence helmets 80- 150 $, postwar issued 'Tildy' (dark green repainted) helmets [1945-1949 period] 40-120 $.
    Unique examples cost skyhigh.

How to identify a hungarian helmet's maker?

It's easy. Check the maker mark inside: GY or MÁVAG
Examine the shell shape:- robust, narrow shape, more angular frontal rim for GY
    - refined, depressed shape, rounded frontal rim for MÁVAG

Check the maker specific fixing nails of the rear metal loop:

-small, tipped nail heads for MÁVAG
-larger, flat nail heads for GY

Truly a wonderful collection. Thanks for the info. It's great to know there's people that care to collect these "lesser known" helmets.
