    Default belgium gendarmerie riot helmet

i thought best to post this helmet here in the composite section as its made from a moulded plastic ,its a one piece helmet and i believe replaced the earlier two piece m51 m1 clone ,it differs from the norm by having a raised crown section ,the chinstrap assembly is really well made and there is a strange short section of leather on the lefthand side that seems pointless to its use it has a liner style triangular termination ,the other side has no section present and no rivit fitted either ,this model ive been led to believe is designated the m63 but as this one is dated 1962 im now not so sure belgium gendarmerie riot helmetbelgium gendarmerie riot helmetbelgium gendarmerie riot helmetbelgium gendarmerie riot helmetbelgium gendarmerie riot helmetbelgium gendarmerie riot helmetbelgium gendarmerie riot helmet

many thanks Kris your explanation makes perfect sense and now clears up my question it was a bit of a puzzler at the time ,i did think perhaps a section of strap was missing so thats a relief
