British Mk6 1985

Picked up today, 1985 dated made by NP Coventry, good condition and it came with both MTP and DPM covers, with the latter being obviously an earlier type, even for DPM covers I think.

I wanted as early an example as I could find so was glad to get this local to me.

It seems from the list I posted that the dpm cover would date to about the same year, 1985, as the helmet

I was surprised to realise that this helmet is 32 old!

I am sure plenty were, but me at age 15 was not one of them, though I was very interested, just had no money.

Real nice time warp example Jerry ,I have a similar but salty example dated 85 and a medium size showing hints of black ballistic nylon under the green coating ,Great find mate

My Example is a bit battered ,just trying to upload a pic of the label as i type ...There all done i notice yours has a penned number too Jerry i have been after an early issue example for some time after i sent my only mint example Mark K's way which i think from memory was dated 1986 and according to Gregs Composite the earliest issued gs mk6 in this configuration was one year earlier back in 84

It amazes me that the MkVI can be picked up for so little, this one on ebay is £15 including cover for an early smooth sheel type dated 1986, not mint but pretty good condition.
