Very interesting variations of this model feldgrau, the particular model with the 028 stencil appears to have an RBR" type" suspension and chinstrap fitted, fascinating thread which has been educational to read, thanks

Based on the material and the modifications, I think my "mystery South Korean export" is also Indonesian.

Ive seen these types of helmets being used by Africa, South America [Peru] , Egypt, Iran, South Korea, Indonesia, Iraq, others

looks like the South Koreans sold a lot of them to other countries as export helmets

Indeed it is, but still there's still a question about that Ages Mfg. Co. too.

the materials to make the headband could have been made by the Ages Mfg. Co in the USA , but possibly either made locally by the Indonesians with imported materials or a special order from the Ages Mfg co? I dont think the helmet was made in the USA

probably just the headband or materials for the headband, some US companies do overseas contract work for other countries

Ive seen other foreign helmets like the Israeli M1 helmets with Israeli liners with US made headbands inside, they often use whatever they can get.
