    Default iraqi m80/03

here's a new one for the shelf ,the 2003 version of the m80 ,i initially didnt know a great deal about these before researching and i honestly thought they were just m90's with a french style salade cover ,i have to say even though it offers no more than bump protection it does seem a heavier gauge material than the earlier m80 ,the liner is quite chunky with thick webbing i notice there is no referance to the iraqi acceptance triangle but a small circular FB stamp ,also the chinstrap has a very crude buckle arrangement well its no more than a hook and eyelet really Click image for larger version.

I wonder if the Iraqi M80/03 will stop a hit from a .45 ? I know the US M1 steel helmet will stop a hit from a M1911A1 .45 auto at close range and just makes a dent.

the Iraqi helmet feels strong enough to protect from ricochets and falling debris, more like a hard hat than a true combat helmet

Nice addition James looks top notch on the bottom shelf with your other Iraqi war veterans .

    Regards Mark
Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.

Found a Canadian Mk II Medics Helmet and yes I know they are about as rare as hens teeth !!!!!
