Size: 31.6 KBjust to share this very recent addition to my helmet collection passed my way from a very kind forum member my understanding is these were a copy of the us m38 and of german manufacture and purchased by us troops stationed in west germany around the late 1950's early 1960's and were to fill the void whilst awaiting the us cvc crewman helmets ,there was also an earlier variant made with an aluminium bowl and which had salt and pepper style air holes not unlike the TR period civic helmets ,this is the closest ill get to owning a us ww2 tank helmet ,except more führer than fury enjoy Click image for larger version.

A lovely addition James and my understanding is these are quite hard to source as they were produced in limited numbers so a very nice helmet to have on the shelf indeed.
I still need to source a US M-38 for my collection as they were used late war by the RCAC in Italy and Southern France.
I as well would like to add the Israeli post war produced variation of the M-38 to my collection:

    Regards Mark
Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.

Found a Canadian Mk II Medics Helmet and yes I know they are about as rare as hens teeth !!!!!

thanks mark its one of the first ive seen allthough i did see the aluminium bowl version on ebay uk perhaps a month back ,i wonder just how many were produced ,have you seen the price of us m38's even the reproduction's command a high price so i hope you manage to secure one and interesting to hear of there use by the RCAC ,i suppose this euro clone would of had the m1 shell fitted over for protection like the two aforementioned types, thanks james
