    I will say awesome because that amount of explosive left in the ground gives you an idea of the scale and violence of the conflict. Is the high explosive inert?

    You dont get inert High Explosive. Once HE, always HE. Its possible to get HE substitute though.

    Many years ago, I think it was the Swedes who had a fire in a warehouse where a number of drill sidewinder missiles were being stored. The fire raged quite fiercly and they suspected somthing was odd about it. The UK MOD heard about this and requested a test of the low explosive rocket propellent be carried out on a sectioned display drill example at RAF Cosford. The substitute they used happened to be the same composition as real low explosive but minus the oxygen molecules. No wonder it burned so well!!

    That's right I remember the Bedouins in Egypt would cook with old WWII tank mines and then leave the case in the road for the Americans. Imagine our surprise!
