Default 8th Air Force finds. Winter 09/10 part 1

Well over the winter iv been over to my dump a couple of times and i think the cold fingers and toes have been worth it.
Firstly 3 machete's which all came from the same place and one i got from ebay to show what they looked like when new.
Next are some canteen mugs i found. As you can see i have cleaned two of them up and they look really good. I just couldnt stop myself makeing a coffee in one of them
Next is a really nice 50cal gun sight. Im so happy to have this!! Now i just need to dig up the mg
Next is a life boat knife. I cleaned one side and left the other and it comes up like new.
Next is part of a leather flight helmet which is now soaking in baby oil to bring it back to life and stop it drying out. (THATS A TOP TIP IF YOU FIND ANY LEATHER) Then a nice little razer made bye GEM.
A wing tip light. It has left written on it.
Some instrument lights red and orange.
A oil drum spanner (think thats what you would call it) Im fairly sure it was for opening a oil drum. And a tiny set of spanners.
Next is a tiny little hammer head its made of brass. Any idear what it would have been used for?????????
    And lastly a lighter.
Hope you enjoy looking as much as i enjoyed finding. Will be back soon with some more including a stack of plexi glass and some more dog tags.

    Hi Andy,

Magnificant finds ... well worth the hardships of winter! Good to see the canteen cup in use ... after 60+ years ... !!!

    All the best,
