nice work with the MIAs, good to know they'll be reunited with their families after all these years.

Hi All
These boys are doing a great job-families now have the peace of mind of the missing being at rest
Perce
very good!
The grenades tied together is the so-called "Geballte Ladung", often used as an anti-tank measure due to the lack of proper anti-tank weaponry. I know that the Germans made these when confronted with the T-34. The Russo-Finnish War was also the "birthplace" of the Molotov Cocktail...As they say, necessity is the mother of invention!
wow after all these years hope they get proper buriel now they deserve it at least the family know where they are now
Those were some amazing photos! And the amount of artifacts is amazing!
I agree with all - a great many thanks for your time and care and good works for these poor dead soldiers. and a tip of the hat to the workers - tuff job
my fave picture is the helmet resting next to the big mushroom..
again incredible scenes, and a very admirable project.
This is an amazing thread !!, well done some interesting finds but most important those lost souls are now identified which can give some peace to the familys and a correct burial. Again top job, well done !!
amazing find they can rest in peace now the place looks so beautiful its hard to think that 65 years ago it was filled with such devastation r.i.p.
The remains were buried in cemetaries in Finland after identification. Finns together with Russians have carried out excavations on the Carelian istmus for many summers now, recovering lots of Finnsh soldiers missing in action during the 1941-44 war against the Soviet union. Very interesting and dramatic/sad piture really..
