Anybody knows how to find out who this GI was?
Article about: Somebody found this bracelet, and we are trying very hard to find any information about it. I tried running the ASN and the name through the ADD files, but with no luck. Does anybody have an

Well.....I tried.
I gave myself an hour to help you out on this one but, after trying every combination of East, Ivy and even partial record searching for just part of his SN has yielded nothing. I found the guy with SN 38489072 and he enlisted in 1943. But that's it.
I have to say, the NARA records are far from complete and I have found a number of omissions and errors over the years. This being the case, it doesn't surprise me you (we) couldn't find him in the AAD.
Add it to your collection and treasure it......that's what I have done with the items carrying names that I couldn't find a family to return it to.

Ivy J. East really is not a common name in the US. There is a Social Security Death entry for Ivy j. East in 1998 in Ogden Utah. There was a relative listed as Max B. East (showing up as, 85 and also listed as deceased in 1998).
