The resolution of the "Partisan" photo makes me think that this is modern. Could be totally wrong...

Looks staged but I suppose any post battle pic will tend to be!-note she's holding a Russian/Soviet M1895 Nagant revolver, one of WW2's most old fashioned weapons next to one of the most modern.

Hey Blokes ~ ~ guess what I now agree with you totally ~

Here is an email I received from my friend who lives in Europe ~

I van't remember what I did in my childhood.

But this girl must be about 20 years older than me (?)

The "SS" dude is wearing an Austrian vlecktarn garment from the 1960/70's.

Also tucked in the side is an SS ceremonial dagger.

Not something you would carry in battle.

    So.....

    FAKE NEWS!
Probably a screen snap from a 1970s European movie or television show (??)

May be a "classy" shot but ~ guess` what fooled ~

Robert also included a snap shot of the same jacket ~

There is a thread here about the various (thousands of types of) German dress daggers actually being taken into combat-generally not as actual weapons though-they also had a habit of wearing decorations and badges in action that simply wasn't done in western armies in WW2.

Still a neat photo. It's just the resolution that gave it away

    Agreed mate ~

for what it is worth~ I also err toward the theory that some did wear full 'dress' regalia into the field ~ even if it was merely an individual thing ~

I agree with Michael. Not period. Add to what has already been mentioned Look at the MP44. That bolt handle cocking slot is way to short to be a real MP44. I'm going with the modern .22 cal version or Airsoft.
