Steve T, told me they were fired from a bren gun,did the 303 gun's from the Spit leave the same marking's on the cartridges?

Went back to the Ardennes(again),to field test my new MD.
It was a realy good day and he didn't disapoint me.
-10 .45cal magazines for Grease-gun, 1 fully loaded, 1 with 2 rounds in it and the rest were empty,but they are in pretty good shape and a bit rusted.
-2 gloves for handeling the hot barrel of a HMG.
-1 mortar tail (I think 120mm german,but not shure of it).

Definatly Bren, Brownings had a round firing pin so they would have left a round indentation.

Looks to me like those .303's where fired from a Bren gun

Does any-one have an idea on the mortar tail?
It's a .30 call cartridge on the side, it might give an idea on the size of it.

Does any one here have a picture of the 12 cm s. Gr. W. 42 Mortar shell, Russian and German?
Can't find a good-one on the net.

First weekend of fair weather after 1 month1/2 of reading and research. So I couldn't pass the opportunity. So I had an RV at 8 o'clock with a buddy of mine.
Thanks to my wife who took out the alarm clock, I was already 2hours behind schedule, so my buddy went on to another spot. It was almost 10 o'clock when I got there. I first went to Lanzerath to take a few pictures for Steve T. After that I wanted to go back to one of the place's I've researched this winter but had a change of thought, and went to an area not far from the one I had in mind.
After 3 hours of searching, these were the results:
-1 Panzerfaust(60M or 100M)with the warhead.
-1 Bi-pod MG34/42?
-1 E-tool (German or US?)
-2 Jerrycans German('43 and '44 dated)
-1 cylinder-like object with a piece of flexible rubber tube attached to it.
-4 large conical objects about 15cm in diameter. I don't know what they are and
the place is full of them.
-1 small trailer for Wyllis Jeep parked in a meadow.

Wow ,im amazed that there is so much gear left there i thought it might have been mostly robbed out by now, instead of returning to France this year my mate phoned and asked if i wanted to go to the Bulge and see the Bridge at Remagen, i jumped at the chance, so its of to Belgium, for us, we will have to do some research into the areas etc but hope to find some bits and pieces out there
