This afternoon i spent a short time searching the encampment didn't have too long because i'm going to a BBQ in a min

Without seeing more of it, it looks like one of the two sections of the Mazak fuze container for a PIAT Bomb.

Nice find ! Try smacking it with a hammer to test if it is part of the fuse mechanism

Oh yeah, that was a good find plus the water bottle, and the music wasnt bad either, hope you didnt have to cope with a giant ball of rock hurtling towards you lol

I can't find the complete one in my collection at the mo, but it looks like THIS.
The spring-clip holds the two halves together and secures the container inside the bomb fin during transit.
