Battledamaged beautiful finds

Article about: They obviously never knew what hit 'em. But it is sobering to realize that indiviuals died wearing those lids... heads turned to strawberry jam.

    WOW. I read through the entire thread, just fascinating. It makes you wonder what happened to those brave lads during their final moments..... Could be in the middle of a horrendous firefight, or maybe just righting a post home to mother.....What stories they could tell. I think the only positive thing is, the helmets that were worn (and judging from angle of entry/exit) most were, the poor lad felt nothing. Those ballistic fragments travel at very high velocities. Many many thanks for sharing, it does remind one that lives are wasted during these conflicts.

    Lovely! I love it! It is not often you see a ground dug MG-42, especially a restored one. Great job!
