    Great finds!!
Now are the munitions disposed of by local authorities? What are you able to keep for yourself on a dig?? I would imagine munitions of any size might have to turned in but on other items is it "Finders Keepers"?

All munitions are left behind. It does not get cleared away, so both the stuff that was already there and the stuff I found is still there in piles on the ground.

I advice to do not touch any explosives or unrecognized metallic pieces. It's dangerous

    I could not agree more.

This gave a reading on the detector, but as soon as I came to this stage and found out what it was (i.e. a live mortar round), it was left alone and no attempt was made to dig any further.

cool finds. one question though, how do pull out the mines and grenades and mortar rounds without setting them off? that seems highly dangerous after all these years, i would think it would be better off leaving them alone?

If live explosives are found I do not pull them out of the ground. Some are on top of the ground and some are only covered with a small layer of dirt. Those that are embedded in the ground as the one in the pic above, I leave alone.

    All are left behind.
