    Hey guys!

Got out this week to explore some more of New England's WWII defenses.

This time I went down to Rhode Island again, to visit Fort Greble, on Dutch Island in Jamestown. After getting in contact with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM). I was allowed permission to visit the island by kayak. The Island carries a heavy fine if caught without permission. There are tons of tunnels and holes that are part of an almost 100 year water collection system, all over the island. Most of which you could fall in, if you are not careful, some holes being more than 20 feet wide some being only a couple of feet, but each full of water, who knows know how deep.

I was able park right at Fort Getty where I had already explored, after a 15-20 minute kayak ride, I got to to the island and was off to explore! Fort Greble was started in 1890's and was used up till the end of WWII. All the big guns were scrapped in 1942. The primary use of the fort during WWII was a German POW camp. Along with many anti aircraft guns and search lights. Plenty of ruins to explore! Lots of bunkers, gun battery's, fire control towers, and many foundations. The light house was just redone. You can still see the outline of the dug trenches still visible in the ground. The big brick building was a hospital.

Ran into a lot of Deers, they would always scare the heck out of me! (Had to be deer bones I kept finding) Also for some reason this island in the bunkers had so many f^*#^* spiders! Everywhere I looked! They where all over the place. Spiders usually don't bother me....but when I look at my arm and have like 10 BIG ones crawling on me I get a little jumpy lol! But all in all was a fun trip!

By this time it had started pouring, and it was cold. Time to head back! I saw everything luckily!
