Yes. Four to be precise although only 2 were worth keeping. I have more than 30 of these bolts now

I've cleaned the rest of the stuff from the dig. As I said earlier, the volume of finds was well down on a usual dig at this site. However, I did manage to recover some half decent buckles from the massive pile of fire damaged ones that I unearthed.

Most were very badly carbonised, indicating the fire must have got to a really high temperature. These were all recovered from the margins of the area I was digging. The main area came out it huge clumps of 2-300 buckles all welded together !!

An odd little soup spoon, unfortunately not marked, and an LE oil bottle from in amongst the buckles.

A couple of LE bolts and some butt plates. None were in too good condition but they've cleaned up not too bad.....

And I am afraid that was it from this visit. Everything else I took home either fell apart when I looked at it or turned out to be a hunk of crap.

    Cheers

Well, you've only yourself to blame !!! I took you to the damn hole, showed you the massive pile I'd uncovered, to which you said 'WOW ! Look at all those !', and you DIDN'T take any ?

I see you need further training on 'grabbing armfuls of stuff someone else has dug up and didn't want', part 1 'How to grab stuff'.

Well, I'm never claim to be perfect, or observant and yeah they probably were all smashed up rubbish that he left laying about

Well the pressy's I took for everyone, I came home with, as it was only me and Steve there. So I gave him two of them. You can have one when we do our next RRPG dig.
